Kingdom of Sunndi - Races

Dwarves

There are two populations of dwarves within Sunndi.

The largest group lives in the dwur kingdom of Glorvardum which is located in the Glorioles. These dwur are mountain dwarves and they are conservative, lawful, xenophobic and isolationistic. Only a few of these dwur ever leave the shadows of the Glorioles and they tend to be lawful neutral and lawful good.

A smaller population of dwarves live in the Hollow Highlands - these dwur are hill dwarves and are relative newcomers to the region (compared to Glorvardum anyway). These dwarves live in separate clans and are more chaotic and open minded to strangers. These dwarves tend to be neutral good.

Elves and half-elves

The largest population of elves consists of grey elves (about 80% of the olves in Sunndi) who mainly live in Rieuwood. The remaining 20% are mainly high elves who are mostly settlers from other parts of the Flaeness.

A few tribes of Wood Elves live in Menowood. These tribes tend to be extremely xenophobic and isolationistic and only a rare few ever leave Menowood.

Gnomes

The largest percentage of gnomes can be found in the Hollow Highlands. Only a few gnome families live in the central valley and the Glorioles.

Halflings

Halflings live all over Sunndi, though most of them live in the central valley among the humans there. Several tribes of independent minded but good natured deep halflings live in the Hollow Highlands. Some tallfellow halflings live among the woodlands of Rieuwood. Their attitude is no different as from the grey elves in whose lands they live.

Half-orcs

Most halforcs are the result of the actions of the orc soldiers of Ivid's armies during the raids before the Greyhawk Wars and the brief conquest of Sunndi by those same forces now 11 years ago. Though Sunndi's open minded approach to those of a different race do tend to draw settlers from other parts of the Flaeness. A few soldiers from Ivid's army also settled here after their defeat by Commander Osson.

There are a few tribes of orcs in Hestmark Highlands (not part of Sunndi) who are at relative peace with Sunndi. All other orc tribes in that region as well as the orc tribes who live in the Glorioles are all ruled by the giants who use them as cannon fodder in their ongoing struggle with the dwur, Sunndi and Ahlissa (depending on how the mood strikes and who of these three looks the easiest raiding target).

Humans

Oeridian (80%), Suel (20%). Sunndi has no connection to large bodies of water and Rhenee do not come in Sunndi. This does make it a good place for banished Rhenee to flee from their kinsman. Any traces to the Flan that once might have lived in this region (though there are no records of actual Flan tribes in what is now Sunndi) have disappeared a long time ago. Baklundish people certainly never lived here.
